I'm an award-winning innovator and consultant.

I'm Shan K. Sundaram, an award-winning educator, researcher, mentor, technology innovator, administrator, and consultant with over 25 years of higher education and R&D experience available for consulting on innovation, materials, processing, technology, startup, intellectual property, and entrepreneurship. My major areas of interest and contributions are interdisciplinary cutting across solid state chemistry and physics, optics, lasers, electromagnetics, and materials science. Current areas include millimeter/THz wave science and technology, ultrafast materials science and engineering, nanoscale and extreme materials processing, and additive manufacturing.I have managed a wide range of research projects funded by industries, and state/federal agencies. I have long and rich experience in assembling highly functional multidisciplinary research teams and delivering results. I am active member/fellow of several scientific societies. I have published over 150 publications and scientific and technical reports, made over 200 scientific/technical presentations, edited/contributed to 21 books, taught/mentored/supported over 200 students, and organized/co-organized several national and international symposia.

I consult on strategies and innovation focused at the interface of energy and materials. In a challenging disruptive ecosystem technology companies operate now, one-size-fits-all approach to innovation does not work. My approach is providing highly customized solutions to my clients supported by science and data. I have a PhD in engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and an Executive Certification on Strategy and Innovation from Sloan Management School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
